Nipa Group Corporate Office
Corporate Office · Dakkhinkhan, Dhaka · 2020
The Nipa Group Corporate Office is a proposal for a corporate headquarters in Dakkhinkhan, Dhaka, on a 14.8-katha site where the client's desire for a strong institutional identity becomes the primary generator of the building's form. The design responds not with a conventional office tower but with a composition of two faces that address the street from entirely different architectural registers.
The primary facade is dominated by a single monolithic element: a tall, steeply inclined panel clad entirely in terracotta-toned perforated cladding, its surface patterned with a diagonal weave that gives it both texture and depth. The panel is not merely a skin over the structure. It tilts forward and rises past the roofline, extending beyond the building's contained mass to read as a billboard-scale gesture of brand identity in the streetscape. The NIPA Group name is embedded directly into this surface, the lettering and the architecture resolved as a single compositional act rather than signage applied after the fact.
The secondary face turns this logic inside out. Here, the glazed curtain wall is the primary surface, and suspended copper-toned rectangular panels are distributed across it in an asymmetric arrangement, projecting at varying depths and orientations. This face does not announce itself. It engages the viewer through accumulation and detail, its irregular pattern of fins catching light differently at each hour and giving the transparent office floors behind them a material presence they would otherwise lack.
The project remains an unbuilt concept with a construction area of 5,150 sqm.
