Rising ICON TOWER
Simplex Multi-Apartment · Section-06, Mirpur, Dhaka · 2026

Located within the dense residential fabric of Mirpur, Rising Icon Tower is conceived as a compact yet spatially expressive prototype for urban living, responding to the mounting pressure for efficient housing without compromising architectural ambition.

The building is organised with two apartments per floor, a clear planning logic that ensures privacy, reduced shared circulation, and optimal unit proportions. Each residence maintains a direct relationship to light, air, and outdoor space — conditions that are rarely negotiated within a constrained urban footprint of this scale.

The massing is articulated through stepped terraces and interlocking horizontal plates that dissolve the perceived bulk of the tower and generate semi-open transitional zones between interior and sky. Continuous balcony bands, deep overhangs, and warm timber soffit planes establish a strong horizontal rhythm across the facade, while cascading planters and integrated hanging greenery introduce a vertical landscape that tempers the built form against the surrounding cityscape.

This layered envelope operates simultaneously as a climatic filter and a compositional instrument — modulating daylight penetration, improving cross-ventilation, and mitigating solar heat gain across the building section. The interplay of projecting slabs and recessed planes produces a depth of shadow that shifts throughout the day, lending the facade a temporal dimension seldom found in residential construction of this typology.

At ground level, the building meets the street through a porous, legible interface. The transition from public boulevard to private threshold is handled with deliberate spatial gradation, maintaining both civic accessibility and residential security.

Designed in 2026 and currently under construction, the project stands on a 7.5 katha site with a total construction area of 3,700 sqm. Design team: Khandoker Tariqul Islam, Iqbal Hossen Sunny, and Noshin Saiyara Karim.
